Hi, gang!
The world outside is still doing what it does. It’s out of our hands, so we keep moving — forward, and toward whatever good we can find close to home. This week there's a lot of that: an enchanted forest worth the ticket price, a brand new children's museum inside the Louvre, a free Picasso, and a 1-dirham arcade situation that might be the best-kept Tuesday secret in Dubai.

THE HERO EVENT
➤ Terra: Welcome to the Enchanted Forest
Forest trails, creative workshops, storytelling corners, nature-inspired games — Terra has done something lovely with this one. It's an event where the description says "every curious explorer," and you believe it, because the space earns it. If your kids have been bouncing off walls indoors all week (understandable, it's 43 degrees and more out there), this is a structured, imaginative reset that won't feel like a school trip. Get there early, it runs until six, and the under-12s walk in free — which is pretty sweet

WORTH THE DRIVE THIS WEEK
➤ Louvre Abu Dhabi Children's Museum — A Board Game Adventure
This one just opened on July 18, and it deserves more than a one-liner. The Louvre Abu Dhabi has launched a brand new Children's Museum built entirely around the history of board games — and it is significantly more interesting than that sentence makes it sound. Every child receives an interactive wristband at the entrance that unlocks videos, quizzes, digital challenges and games as they move through the galleries. They'll encounter Mehen, one of the oldest known Egyptian board games played 5,000 years ago, learn the history of chess and carrom, and scan their wristbands to make historical figures come to life on screen. Outside: a life-sized chessboard where your kids become the pieces. 24 objects from Louvre's own collection, loans from international museums, and children under 18 enter free. This earns the Abu Dhabi drive.

Sharjah Archaeology Museum, Science Museum, Museum of Islamic Civilization. All three just received official baby and family-friendly certification. If you haven't been — with love — you're missing out.

➤ Wafi Mall Hidden Gems Tour Free
Running on weekdays — and if you sign up, you get two free games at Singo, an indoor paintball experience tucked inside (group of 4: play for free, 2 pay). The tour uncovers secret spots and the extraordinary history in Wafi's Egyptian-themed architecture. Most people who've walked through this mall a hundred times have no idea what they've been walking past. Rewards include a staycation prize.

If you haven't looked at Sharjah's summer program yet, do it now. A full season across heritage sites, aquariums, science museums and art spaces — and most of it is either free or very affordable.

➤ StickerCon Volume 4 — Cosplay Community Event
No competition. No judging. Just a full two-day cosplay community gathering where you show up in whatever you've been working on, meet fellow cosplayers, take photos, and exist among people who get it.
